Hiking & Vows in Tiveden National Park
Maria & Jan got comfy in their Swedish cottage next to Lake Örlen, a few days prior. This set the mood for the entire trip. Slow paced, relaxes, heartfelt.
On the Elopement Day we immersed ourselves into Swedish nature, exploring the deep, mystical forests of Tiveden National Park. Nestled between Västra Götaland and Örebro, it is known for its wildness and diversity. Also legend says that the ancient woods are home to mystical creatures.
We followed the Stenkällerundan Trail along moss covered paths, sparkling lakes and boulders. We were all in awe of nature and talking about how we wouldn't be surprised to spot fairies in this ancient place.
When speaking their vows they were all joy and silver lined eyes. Maria & Jan were already legally married so their Elopement was all about the symbolism of renewing their promises to each other.
Although the day of their ceremony was over, the adventure wasn't. We spent the next days going on more hikes, kayaking, spotting moose in the forest, home cooking food in the evenings and chilling in the cottage whirlpool. Swedish getaway done right.

What to do in & around Tiveden National Park
Hiking - There are multiple hiking trails to explore. I recommend the Trollkyrkerundan Trail (4,5km), which takes you into old-growth forest and has spectacular views of Lake Vättern from Lilla Trollkyrka. Or the longest Trail Trehörningsrundan (9,5 km). See overview of all of the hiking loops here.
Paddling - Rent a kayak or canoe and have a fun day exploring Lilla and Stora Trehörningen and getting a seaside view of the park.
Swimming at Vitsand Beach - Enjoy crystal-clear waters and sandy shores. Perfect for sunbathing, picnicking, or simply lying down with a good book.
Sauna & Hot Tub - Unwind after hiking and soak in the warmth while overlooking a beautiful lake. For example here.
