Ireland Elopement at Cliffs of Moher

Elopement day

A whole day exploring the countryside & sunset vows at Cliffs of Moher

The cozy home in the Irish County Kerry felt like home. We spent the lazy morning watching the everchanging weather, drinking coffee and talking about the past and future. Katharina and Philip got ready side by side and shared a first touch before the first look.

An Elopement without an immersive roadtrip is half complete. So we drove and drove across the rolling green hills and spotted countless sheep along the way. Braving the rain, we had a look at the unique rock formations of Dunquin Pier.

Our last destination: the mighty Cliffs of Moher. We spent hours up here listening to the waves crash into the rocks and watching the seagulls take off from the rugged rock face. When the sun began to set and the light turned golden, Katharina and Philip made their vows to each other.

While in ireland

Exploring the Wild Atlantic Way

The Wild Atlantic Way is one of the most scenic and iconic coastal routes in the world, stretching along the rugged western coast of Ireland. It’s a 2,600 km (1,600 miles) journey filled with dramatic landscapes. Here are some of the must-see spots:

Ring of Kerry - A stunning loop with mountain passes, beaches, and quaint villages.

The Burren - A limestone karst landscape, home to rare plants and fascinating geology.

Killary Harbour - Ireland’s only fjord, perfect for hiking and boat tours.

Ben Bulben - Known as Ireland’s "Table Mountain," this striking peak is steeped in mythology.

Slieve League Cliffs - Some of the highest sea cliffs in Europe, even taller than the Cliffs of Moher.

Malin Head - The northernmost point of Ireland, known for its rugged beauty and as a spot to see the Northern Lights.

Belonging

small spaces of silence
in between borrowed breaths
arms tighten
at the whisper of a name

all the words of the heart
the unanswered questions
are at this moment
blue rolling waves
